Stick With Your Objectives

If you want to stick with your objectives, here a set of advices that will help you to not demotivate and keep you on the road to attain them.

  1. Break down your dreams into manageable steps.
  2. Make sure you’re part of a supportive community of like-minded people.
  3. Put yourself in front of the reality and be aware of the consequences.
  4. Making changes to your environment and having a clear direction (road map).
  5. Brainhack/Neurohack: If you’re trying to start running, then start referring to yourself as a runner, and not just someone who runs (question-related to your identity).
  6. Positive reinforcement is a more effective motivator than fear but be sure to not attain the goal only for the reward the act of completing a goal should be considered as the reward in itself: employees were found to be more motivated by simple goal-setting and workplace training than when incentive programs or rewards were used.
  7. The secret to eliminating bad habits is to replace them with positive ones: repetition will help to ingrain the new habit in your mind.
